| I'm almost 100% sure that you're seeing the results of a poor connection between the LCD controller and the LCD. You know the conductive plastic strips (from mobile phones) that got used to unlock certain AMD CPUs? Well, there are some LONG versions of those connecting the LCD to the LCD controller board! It looks like somehow the LCD and it's controller have started to part their ways, and the conductive strip can no longer fully bridge the gap.
This might be a common problem with the model, or you may just be unlucky. Personally, I wouldn't try to fix that, as your LCD may well have over a thousand connections that need to be lined up.
On the other hand, it may just be that the screws holding it together have come loose. I'd say check that all the screws holding the LCD unit are in place and tight. You may have to open the casing around the LCD unit to do so. I wouldn't try to go any further than that though!
