Computer Freezes

Howdy, I recently got a new computer and it has been working fine for about 2 weeks. Untill Yesterday, that is. Now whenever i play any fairly recent game like UT2k3 it will freeze after about 7-8 minutes of play. It freezes and keeps playing the last sound over and over like a broken record

The only clue i have is that whenever it freezes, windows xp logs this error report: "The device, \Device\Scsi\nvidesm1, did not respond within the timeout period."

My System is:
Ati RAdeon 9700 pro
Epox 8rda
Athlon Xp 2100+
512mb Corsair 3200 memory

I have the newest drivers for everything as windows update is empty. If anyone has any information on fixing this problem i would be very thankful.

Windows update won't give you the latest drivers. You need to go to the manufacturers website, or another place that has drivers availible for download.

Just a guess but that seems to be a code starting with nvid, sound suscipiously like nVidia. And since the only nVidia thing in your system is the mainboard chipset you should check with either Epox or nVidia and see if there is a more recent chipset driver for your board. If that doesn't help you could also look for a new BIOS and or Video driver.
