memory dump error

Alright I've been experimenting with new ram, and something is very messed up with my system right now. I got some new kingston hyperx pc3000 and i've been running memtest with it @210 and 215fsbs, without any of the pci devices in it. The thing is, I loaded it into windows and it gave me a bsod, saying that it was dumping the memory or something like that, I wrote down part of the error code
0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x80511d29

The thing is, when I boot into windows, I set everything to default, which is 1700+ with a 133fsb, and I still get the memory dump errors. I tried a different video card, and it does the same thing. Anyone have any ideas about what might have happened?

What OS are you using? I think there's a guide on how to understand BSODs in the FAQ section of the forum, although I believe it only works for 2000 and XP. May turn up a few clues...

okay I have two sticks of the kingston hyper x, when I try using one stick, it gives me the memory dump errors, when I use the other stick, it will fail in prime95 after about 5 minutes, even when running at 11 x 133, which is stock for my 1700+

the ram also works fine at 166 on my friends p4 system....any ideas?
