BIOS flashing (a7V133)

A friend of mine called me the other day and said that he had flashed the BIOS in his asus A7V133 and now it wouldn't boot anymore.

I told him to reset the CMOS, unplug the PSU for a while, and then try starting up again. He still got nothing.

What can we do to rescue his motherboard when I see him in two weeks? He said that he had found the BIOS on the asus website, and that it was the correct BIOS.

TIA

Things didn't turn out the way I thought this weekend, so I didn't see him afterall. However he had bought an ECS board as a replacement (without consulting me first - should I be insulted?? lol), so I figure he leaves the old board for dead.

Good of you to ask tho.

Or better yet, you can recover you bios by doing this.

On Ami bios just rename bios file to amiboot.rom on a floppy, put it in and turn on comp and wait. usually takes awhile (up to 20 minutes)

On Award.
Its been awhile sinse I done this but if I remember correctly, you have to make a file with notepad, add following commands

@echo off
nlsfunc
keyb us
awdflash (bios file name) /py /sb /sn /cp /cd /r

Then save it as autoexec.bat.(on a floppy)

with the bios file, and the awdflash.exe file

Put it in the drive turn on power and wait.
