Unhappy Nvidia Detonator drivers and no video...

Ok, for those who might remember, I originally tried a version of Nivida's drivers that didn't agree with my machine. I had lots of hassle getting my machine back in a working state.

Now, I've wiped Windows off, and reinstalled it. I've installed device drivers for the SCSI card, the VIA 4in1 Drivers and finally, the current Detonator 23.11 drivers.

When the machine reboots, I get a nice funky blue screen, but with nothing on it. If I move the mouse pointer up to the top of the screen, I get some interesting lines down the screen.

I've tried two different Geforce2MX cards, and both show the same thing. Both will work fine in standard VGA.

I've removed everything but the SCSI card and the Video card. I've even tried a different SCSI card to make sure it's not some wierd conflict.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what might resolve this issue?

It's one of those lovely "must install drivers in correct order" issues.

Basically, installation order is

1) VIA4in1
2)SCSI or NVidia

Trying to install the SCSI drivers before the VIA 4in1 drivers really messes something up. The fix for it is a reinstall.

I have a Geforce 2 and I can't use any drivers above 12.x in Win ME.
My computer freez just before Windows start. I get a black screen with a small red rectangle in the upper left corner.

I've tried it with Win98GE and Win98SE. Exactly the same symptoms both times. Even now, running 3DMark2001 kills the video. Running the few games I run doesn't kill it though...

That kinda concerns me greatly.

Hmm, I have a G-force 2-MX 200 and installed the Version: 23.11
driver the other night and have had NO trouble @ all, and all I did was use the detonatordestroyer first.

The AGP is @ 4x and FSB is @ 150, and it's on the MSI mobo. no scsi though.

Yup. All the way to disabling AGP, which made no difference at all. Went back to the failsafe settings, no OC, no performance, and still no graphics.

Suspect fundimentally broken driver.

I've read many people are having trouble with the 23.11 drivers, try switching back to 21.81.

Might also wanna try a different version of the VIA 4-in-1 drivers. I had my video screw up a while back after updating my drivers. I was able to remove them in safe mode.

Yeah, make sure your not using the VIA 4 in 1 Version 4.36.

That one doesn't work at all.
