Internet "Optimizer" is an Internet Messer your Computer Upper

So some company by the name of Avenue Media thought that the internet was not yet polluted enough with porno sites, penis pumps and free air travel scams, so they make your default "This page cannot be displayed" page, and replace it with their search engine. I just spent the last hour removing their trojan horse. I never consented to having it put on, they just dump it on you. The program was called "Internet Optimizer" and it comes with its own handy little tool bar beneath your browsers address bar.

Inside this nifty peice of crap are handy links that will sweep you instantly to gambling sites that sponsor Avenue Media. So the makers of this crap were genius in coming up with ways to beat the customer into looking at their ad first. "Hell, lets skip the pop up, lets just put one huge banner on their friggin toolbar!" Yeah, its great isnt it. Adaware could not remove it, But I think I outsmarted it. I erased EVERYTHING I possibly could, and these buttholes put an ample amount of this garbage in every conceivable area of your hard drive. The files that I couldnt erase, I renamed rendering them inoperable. Well thats my story with Internet optimizer.

By the way, there oughtta be a law.................

Be carefull with it, very powerful program, DO NOT leave it installed if there is the chance someone newbish or worse a " clicker to see what it does" person gets access to your pc. You uninstall it in it's own OPTIONS menu.

As a matter of Fact I did. But alas, it was too late. I already fixed the problem by renaming the dll file to a txt.

I may be jumping to a false conclusion here, maybe other browsers have this feature. Other browsers haven't permitted this kind of PITA for me. Having unwanted(really!) progs installed behind your back is an IE specialty. I don't use IE, I don't appreciate being reamed so that The Bill makes a penny.
