Darn power outages!!

I got home to fine that for some reason my box and my laptop would not get on the web. Girls told me that there was a short power outage. So I did the usual, reboot everything including the router and modem... still no connection. I even tried to connect to it directly, still nothing. So I try to log into the router and it just will NOT let me in. I can't even get a login screen. Ok, I'm starting to think that the router might be 86 ( ) So I unplug it for a while.... try it again.. and still nothing.... I'm just about ready to go out and get a new router thinking that it's gone.

OK, last ditch effort.. ask one of the girls to go and check there computer. Turns out it connects and works just fine. Well... I logged back into it and changed all my settings back to what I had them and now it seems to work just fine.

Let this be a lesson, always use a surge protector!!!

I normally have a surge protector extention running my pc.
afew months ago i noticed it had vanished and been replaced by a normal extension cable . I questioned my other half and it turned out she was using it in the loft for a light because it had a longer flex on it.

the funny thing was she said she changed them over about a month earlier.
i dint notice
