BF2 crashes

BF2 randomly crashes to desktop... no action that i can think of that brings it to happen.

any ideas? no error message, no bsod... just crashes cleanly to desktop.

any tech info ya need, lemme know

I had the same problem, seems quite common, just uninstall and then redo the game itself, seemed to cure it for me.

If F@H graphical client is started and in tray you may want to close it while playing. If isn't started change the video driver. Post your system conf. in your sig it'll be easyer for us to help you !

I've heard that linux community came up with better implemented security in it's latest Linux Mint Gold version, it's actually preventing the user to log in, thus posing 0 risk in contamining the computer with malware! Well done to the open source community!

Also you might want to change the sound to a low setting and software instead of hardware and turn off EAX. I have heard of a lot of problems with sound cards and this game.

It's generally an overclocked chipset that causes this crash...i think the end resulting crash to desktop instead of crashing to a BSOD is due to the patch that dealt with the mem leak. suffice it to say that if BF2 crashes, then you have either corruption in the game itself, or your overclock is too high.

I run F@H and BF2 all the time.... works fine for me.

I use to have this prob. MAKE SURE you run a defrag on your HD that should fix it.

I've tried to run BF2 and F@H at the same time and it randomly crashes to the desktop all the time. Try it without running Folding@Home and tell us what happens.
