computer off/power light on?

this is the second time it has happened....i dont have any idea what it is.

i left my computer on last night to let it run a defrag and i woke up this morning and the computer was completely off but the power light was on. i tried pressing the power button but nothing happened. the only way i could get it to turn back on was to shut off the PSU with the switch on the back. i just got home from work about 15min ago and my computer did the same thing. i dont know why its doing this b/c its happned while i was afk. any ideas?
