Freeze ups
One of my towers keeps totaly freezing up and has to be rebooted.

Specs are-
Asus K8n-E-Deluxe socket 754 mobo
Sempron 3000 64 bit @stock
2 sticks Mushkin Basic Enhanced PC3200 (256)
GeForce FX 5200 with 64bit drivers

Temps are 35c idle 41c full load

Here's what I've tried so far

Switched out KVM cable, hd, OS, ram, ram slots.

Vid card and PS (Enlight HPC 300) have been used with other set ups and had no problems.

I'm thinking that either the mobo is bad or possibly the PS going wacky?
This happens whether it's under full load or not, and may run fine for days or only hours before it freezes.
The whole desktop freezes (I can tell by the clock), and mouse/ keyboard do nothing. I have to power off by holding in Power Button and it reboots fine.
Any suggestions?
(and don't bother telling me the ram or vid card are crap, this is a cruncher, not a high powered gaming machine)

I believe the 64 bit drivers (video card driver)are for the 64 bit OS. Are you running a 64 bit OS? or XP?

quick though, have you flashed the bios at all?

Yes, 64 bit Windows XP, and no. I think (I'll have to double check) that I need a floppy drive to flash this bios, and I'm not sure it's worth the effort to install one and go out to buy floppies. Lol.

Also, I have SuSE10 (32bit)installed on the other hd that I tried in this.

I have 64 bit SuSE installation cd's. I may give those a try, but I don't expect it have any impact on the freeze up problem.

random lo9ckups, even at idle are generally ram or PSU.

I could switch out the PS. I'm going to move the tower to an easier to work on spot, anyway.

I changed the PS, and will let it run and see if it freezes again.

It wasn't the PS. It locked up again.
I'll switch out ram again.
