Hold down Alt when doing your screenshots so you only screenshot the active window.
This saves any need for image editing/compressing.

Also when in paint instead of just saving, hit "save as" then change the drop down menu to " .jpg "

Makes for a much smaller download.

I suggest you start by checking out the sound chip and its device driver under device manager \ sound video and game controllers \ and something like RealTek AC97.

If its there already or there's an unknown device you may have to uninstall it before you can reinstall the drivers

its there but cant be updated or installed its missing dll files and kernal something or another. it seems like i cant install anthing new, today i tried uploading some pics from a camera and it tried to tell me to install all of this new drivers for the "new hardware" but it just made me install the same **** over and over and it didn't work. then i went to my other computer and not problems no installing anything and i never put that camera any where near that computer. so can i reinstall windows or try a repair of any with registry? my computer is having a real problem with hardware and mixed up drivers, i think at least.

Sounds like corruption of some windows files. You can try repairing but most likely it will require a reformat.

Hey, at least it still boots and you can get your data off.

thats what i plan on doing reformating then reinstalling. real quick can i partition my hd so that i can save a file or folder rather and format the other side and bounce the folder back over after i reinstalled/reformated? sorry for sounding like a noob i asked one of my friends about partitioning along time ago and they didn't know so i forgot about it and never found out how it works.

You would need a program like partition magic to do something like that. Why not just save the file or folder to disk?

a 30gig file? I thought there was a 4gb limit on file sizes? You have got me stumpped unless you can wipe everything off your 40GB HDD and put it on there then remove it from your system, then do a repartition reformat reinstall on the 300GB HDD then put the 40GB back on.

that hard drive broke when i took it out one day, a really small part of the chip on the bottom came off. is it possible to reformat one partition on a drive that has two? or i am in the prosses of hunting down a hard drive from a friend to save this stuff so i can reformat the whole thing.

I'm not sure if he meant 1 single file, but I know for a fact you can have things bigger than 4 gigs. I have a DV film that's 11 gigs all in one file, and windows is fine with that.
