Bsod

This is my BSOD:

I think we all know what my problem is now.
I'm going to update my GFX Card Drivers. If this doesn't work, it looks like my GFX card is a duffer.

Which is very upsetting.

Like I told you on MSN - I thonk this is probably caused by the motherboard's HDD controller doing down the tube, and corrupting that file.

As you haven't mentioned artifacting or other graphics based wierdness, I don't think the graphics card is at fault.

It would be useful to check if the file is corrupt - it may be you get a BSOD pointing to a different file next time and it could just be that the file gets corrupted loading into memory or another file it relies on is mangled.

I agree with Favu - its worth trying a different PATA cable on the other HDD controller and also reverting to the Microsoft vanilla drivers if you've got chipset specific ones loaded.

I don't say you're necessarily wrong - just like to try the cheaper options first !

I know you have done a lot to try to rectify this problem.

Give a quick rundown of what you have tried. This way it is all in one spot.

I have had similar problems with rigs and ended up reformatting to cure it.

The only hardware left is the CPU, Motherboard and Memory.
The CPU is fine. I don't have problems in games at all (In fact, I'm able to play cSS at max settings with no problem at all ) so I'm sure it's not my graphics card either.
That leaves the mobo and the memory.
Because of the problems with the PC actually POSTing, and the problems with the corrupt data - one has to conclude that it looks most likely to be the motherboard.
I udnerstand there are other things I could do beforehand JimF, but I'm fed up with all of this.
I've done enough fiddling, installing, driver cleaning, driver updating, hardware replacing etc. I'm sick of it.
A new mobo is £50. I'd rather go that route and solve it without the hassle.

I'm not sure throwing parts at it is going to fix it....

The motherboards duff Sam.
It can't be anything else as everything else has been checked.

Have you actually tried reinstalling the OS.

I have had plenty of rigs show up with similar issues. After checking all of the hardware with other components I ended up reinstalling and all is well.

Not giving you a hard time just trying to save you a little coin....

Did you test the memory though?

I'm pretty sure PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA is generated by the Windows Memory Manager.

I haven't tested the memory. yes Sam, tried that several times, sorry.

I'm really tired with all this Pitch. I'm tempted to replace both the memory and mobo for £100 and have done with it.
I'm just sick of it.
Sick to death.

I pray that a new mainboard will fix all of the problems! Had I the same hassles and PITA's I'd buy a new m'board, too. If that didn't make all of the problems history ... Suffice it to say that I'd be in a case kicking mood!
