my caps blew

on my epox 8rda+. 3 are leaking and one is bulging, these are the green caps near the v reg circuit.
do I have any recourse with epox? can I get anything from em for it?
just ordered an ep-9NPA3SLI yesterday, will probably be exchanging it for an 9NPAJSLI too.

THe 8RDA+ is well out of production and support now. If you have some soldering skills or know someone who does, you can put new caps in your board for about $20 though. We had quite an extensive discussion about that here.

Leaking and bulging electrolytic caps are the worst kind of traitorous activity to find under your case cover. Will Taiwanese PCB makers ever cough up the money for the RIGHT formula for the yucky brown stuff? Will the Japanese sell the formula? Kinda doubt it. I guess that buying the caps from Japan just raises Chinese hackles too high. Sigh.

Just replaced a couple caps on my boys GF4 Ti card. Just find the appropriate value and your set. If you have never soldered before, practice on some dead item you may have lying around...

And when changing caps, always pay attention to polarity....

yeah, I can solder. I don't really feel like replacing the 7+ caps I would have to replace. I'm amazed the board lasted as long as it did!
3 of the Vcore reg caps are covered in ooze, one is bulging, my Vdimm caps are all blown, and the one cap below the agp slot is gone too..

It is either replace the caps or the board.

Maybe this is the sign for an upgrade...

I can show you a load of bulging panasonics and rubcons if you wish! It's not a Taiwanese issue, and it can now be argued that they do in fact have the best capacitors for the money (and PRC too as well as ROC).
