No, I got this.

http://scan.co.uk/Products/ProductIn...oductID=375883

I was talking with Abdul yesterday, and he informed me that his uncle had the same crashing problem, only with a 4200+. He told me that it was the hard drive that was causing the problems. Since his uncles hard drive is virtually the same as mine, apart from the size, I'm going to try a reformat.

But it still won't sort out my other two problems that I'm having. =(

PC doesn't boot up when pressing the power button. I have to press the reset button again for it to boot.

Any solutions for this one?

Bios update ? if you can be sure it will be stable enough to do it?

52c idle is alot loading the cpu that will shoot up.

As a test in the bios monitor the cpu temp whilst disabling the cpu fan. See how quickly it warms up and whether the heatsink gets warm

There is no BIOS update currently available.

Anyways, I reinstalled Windows, ran a stability test and a performance tuning test. All was well. CPU knocked up to 2560mhz, and memory up to 711mhz. I ran Raven Shield for a little while, and everything was perfectly fine. Temperatures didn't even flinch.

I restarted, and bam. Crash within 5 seconds. So, I restarted again. And it's fine. I even managed to type this.

So...any ideas?

PS: Still have the boot problem, too.

And no sooner had I posted this that the damn PC crashed again.

I'm going to summarise my feelings in the following sentence;

GODDAMNIT WHY WON'T YOU WORK YOU STUPID PIECE OF ****ING CRAP? I HATE YOU!!! ARRGGHHH!!

And now, I request immediate help. I know I'm pushing for help quite a lot, but I really need the system up and running by Tuesday at the very latest.

Don't get me wrong, EpOx, I'm not critisising the amount of members on the forum, nor am I critisising the help I have already recieved. In fact, all the advice so far has been excellent. I'm just eager to get my PC working, I guess. A BIOS flash is in order, I assume, before I contact Foxconn and Scan for a replacement.

Wanna thank everybody who's helped me so far. You guys are awesome! =D

Damnit, second double post in 5 posts. Apologies.

Well, I emailed Scan yesterday, stating what the problems were, and they've emailed me back with their RMA procedures. Which means I'm going to get a replacement. I just hope they don't intend on charging me at all.

Thanks for your help guys!

~ Raphael.

You wouldn't be the first to tell me to go Intel.

But still, I like AMD. I prefer their consistency over Intel's one lucky run. So, yeah. =)

Will do, man.

Arranged for the courier to come Wednesday. I still have a sneaky feeling that Scan are planning on charging me for something. Call it a gut feeling, but I don't think they're planning on paying for the return courier out of their own pockets. Unless they're really nice people.

Bump.

Scan emailed me back. They told me I would be liable for a charge if the motherboard turns out to be fine.

So I have to make sure that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the board. Is there anything else I can do to test the board before I send it off, or are we safe to say it's defective?

Thats BS. If it doesn't work in your PC - it's faulty - regardless of whether they can get it to work on not.
It should work 100% perfect out of the box. It doesn't. So if they get it working - it's because they've flashed the BIOS or something - which you shouldn't have to do.
It's faulty. Don't let them tell you it's not. If they tell you it isn't thats like selling a car and then telling the buyer he's gotta change the exhaust system.

Okay, Mr AP! =)

But, assuming they do flash the BIOS or something, how would I prove it? I mean, if they flash the BIOS and then charge me for it, that's just daylight robbery, right?
