Why do I even bother?!

I installed an aftermarket cooler on my 6800gt because the temps were a bit high (75-80c). Well brought the system up.. much cooler now since I added the fan.. but the screen is freakin blue! wtf. Could I of damaged the card or what? I tried another monitor to make sure that wasn't the problem (had a power outage the other day.)

Ok.. the odd thing.. if I go through the dvi adapter instead of connecting right to the vga port the screen looks fine.. once I go back to vga it's blue again =/

If it works, it works. Blue doesn't sound real good!

Maybe you borked the VGA connector...use the DVI adapter then *shrugs*

Hopefully, you have the thing under warranty still.

A lesson well learned by many: If you can get a lifetime warranty on your video card, GET IT. Even if it costs 10-20% more, GET IT.

Have you tried moving the connection around whilst it's plugged in?

I used to have a monitor that went every color in the rainbow. It was just a matter of fiddling with the connection until it was fine. Perhaps it's something simple like a loose pin or something?

Well, they are sending me a new video card out hehe... yeeha. =P It was my fault.. I shouldn't of tried installing a video card in the dark (didn't have power and was bored out of my mind so tidied up case fans and stuff lol). After pulling the card I noticed that I damaged the connector a bit.. bleargh.

I have enough trouble installing PCI cards with good light. Oh, to be young again? JK, it was enough of a hassle the first time.
