Well, maybe there's an incompatibility with the motherboard and another component. Popular themes like that include memory and graphics card. Did you update the bios?
You don't need an AGP card to test it out, a PCI card will do just fine for that.

Maybe you tested already with prime but did you test your memory with memtest86 and did you try to see wheather the blackouts still occur with only one memory stick plugged in?

You tried two PS units, which ones?

Give your graphics card a dedicated power line if possible. So no HD or ATAPI device attached to the extra graphics card power connector.

What do you mean start again?

I noticed another symptom of the problem, yesterday, the screen went pink. And it froze. The the video output was totally scrambled and was pink and very distorted and out of proportion. This suggests video error, however RA'ing my video card still not working suggests AGP port. Is there a diagnostic program I can run to find out?

Download clockgen to check the bus frequencies. Of course AGP should be 66Mhz, PCI 33Mhz.

http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php

Also make sure your graphics card gets power from a dedicated line. Meaning only the molex of one cable attached only the card.
