Geocube Radeon X850 PRO freezes up

I build a computer for my brother-in-law two weeks ago and mailed it to Alabama from Arizona.
He got it and everything works except the games.
I origionally installed ATI drivers and it worked momentarily on games but I didn't try playing them for 30 minutes.
He has been telling me that is freezes on every game.
I had him install the Geocube drivers and he's still having the same problem.
He said that it freezes up on Battlefield 1942, Doom 3, Flight Simulator X, but Windows seems to be working fine.
I really need some help to get his games working.
Is there a BIOS setting that I may have missed?

Here are the specs:
MSI K8N Neo4-F Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 (all drivers installed from disc)
GECUBE GC-RX850PG3-D3 Radeon X850PRO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice 2.4GHz Socket 939 Processor
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JB 160GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive
LITE-ON 18X DVD±R Burner Black IDE
Microsoft Windows XP Home With SP2B 1 Pack (all updated)

I dunno, freezes in gaming to me sounds like it could be overheating, perhaps a HSF became dislodged but provides enough cooling for windows use?

Let us know how it goes!

I'll have him re-seat the video card and RAM.
Hopefully he won't break anything.

I guess it could be overheating but its got a massive & heavy heatsink/fan. I could have him check to see if the fan is spinning on the video card.
Thanks for all the suggestions

He says the games are working fine now.
I bet the card got un-seated during the shipping.
That must have been it because everything is working great.
He has recieved a lot of good comments on the computer.
Thanks for your help everyone.
