I'm back again with another problem and some more question,

I noticed that the audio stuttering has come back but not as worse. Only when my ram is over 50%. The stuttering is for a couple of seconds. Is this normal too? Does the timings 4-4-4-10 make my computer more stable or faster as on the RAM heat spread it shows the timing 5-5-5-15. Also the post at the start shows my RAM as PC-4300 even though my RAM is pc2-6400. Do I need to change the voltage as the heat spread shows the voltage should be 1.9v - 2.0v. Sorry for all the questions.

I am also planning on selling these 2 x 512mb pc2-6400 G.skill, and buying 2 x 1gb. Can you tell me which RAM you recommend me getting. I've been looking at the OCZ ATI ones and the Dominator ones, are these recommended? Also how about these:
http://www.memory-configurator.com/p...kit/index.html
It shows that the timings are 4-4-3-5. These are pretty lower than mine, so is this recommended?

Just out of interest - what sound card are you using ?

According the the boards what you describe looks like a 'standard' feature for the X-Fi so I'm wondering why you're looking at the RAM first.

The soundcard is onboard, and thats not the problem. The problem only occurs when my RAM is over 50% used.

Kai? You have installed the sound drivers for your board, yes?

As your still in difficulties, I'd try the 5-5-5-15-5 settings and see if there's improvement. Upgrading your Ram sure won't hurt.

Voltage... The idea it to get the fastest settings with the lowest (heat producing) voltage.

So try the 555155 settings at 1.9, if that doesn't set things right try it at 2.0

Don't worry about to many questions, we are here to offer assistance.

Thanks.
I have installed the sound drivers (it was the first thing I ever did) and yes they are up-to-date according to the website.

I have done these settings. I will inform you if anything else crops up. Im going to test it now.

I have just noticed something.
The stuttering doesnt happen when I have a usb audio out adapter plugged in and using headphones through that. This is becoming wierd. Is it a problem with my onboard? Or is it a feature like JimF. Maybe its not my RAM? And i also noticed its not the actual video that jerks its the audio. Do i need to replace my board? get a sound card? HELP?!?!

onboard audio will use cpu for it's processing. When this happens, little "fits and spurts" are more than normal. I assume your onboard is Realetk based?

Don't know if it will help, but have you downloaded the AC97 codex from AOA Files?

this behavior is somehting that is hard to overcome. You probably need more cpu-speed to fully combat the problem. Lowering the memory divder lowered ram speed, but made the issue a bit less prevelent. This is becasue now there is less delay in the signal being sent from soundacrd to cpu, due to tighter latencies on the ram. You may jsut be stuck dealing with it.

Hah, ok so what do i spend more money on? RAM? CPU? If I have to buy another CPU, will it work if i just overclock this 1? If i overclock it to something like 2.8ghz, maybe? Shall i put the RAM back to what you recommended at the start? ATM it is on 555155 @ 1.9v, shall i try 2.0V?

Maybe a PCI soundcard, a creative X-Fi 1?

BTW that a '97 didnt work.

To be honest, I haven't had this problem, so I'll let Dave try to fit you with an answer.

I'd try overclcoking a bit. can't hurt nothing but your windows isntall(alwqays re-installable). I'd set ram up as Isuggested ealier...try the 5-5-5-15 timings adn stock voltages(whatever Gskill says they need), and then start increasing the FSB.
