Vista activation problems

Hi again guys. seems like I only drop by when I have a problem (sorry )

Anyway, I've had vista for a few months now, OEM version from newegg.com, fully activated (legally) and all that good stuff.
Just a while ago however, after playing some half-life 2, I get hit with 'this version of windows is not genuine'

I tried re-activating, but it gave me this:

A few minutes of searching later, I found out that it's probably because the 'Software licensing' service wasn't started. I tried to start it and got this:
http://www.filecram.com/files/926Untitled.jpg

And that's as far as I can get. I tried system restore, and as usual, no luck.

Any ideas would be great. I feel like I'm running on borrowed time here, and it's not the best feeling in the world.
(I'll even format and re-install if it comes to that, but I'd really rather not)

This also happened to me once before, I downloaded a motherboard driver that windows update told me to download, and afterwards they tell me my copy's not genuine. Luckily system restore fixed that one, but this time seems worse

Nobody knows how to screw their customers over like good ol' Microsoft

well first try and run the system file checker (i assume vista still has it) type "sfc /scannow" in teh console with the windows disk in the drive and it will check the system files to make sure they are all intact and restore them to original

Sorry for ignoring this thread for so long.
Anyways, I did a full reinstall, and everything's been fine since. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Well isn't that a very fine thing to have achieved!
I'm proud of ya man! I'm smiling like mad! LOL!

I'm down to between 6 and 7 cigs a day and holding....depending on how many hours I'm up. Still a struggle at times, but the grip is slowly easing and I seem to go a extra half hour without noticing as often As I carve a hit a half hour early.

Don't know yet if I'll ever be completely comfortable, but given my approach, being comfortable with theses restrictions hardly matters.":O}

Very well done Surlyjoe!
