Angry CRASHED-aw9d-max

While updating the bios from v.12 (original) to v.13 inside windows the update stopped at 37%. Now he gets

AWARD BOOTBLOCK BIOS V1.0
BIOS ROM checksum error
DETECTING floppy drive A media...

This happened to me before with a MSI board and after inserting the floppy disk containing the original bios the mobo recovered. However in my friend's case (Sorin) the FDD light goes on for about 5-10 sec but without the sequential reading noise and thats all. On the floppy there are three files one autoexec.bat with the flash command, one award.exe flash prog. and the bios itself.bin What the hell is wrong with this board?

Thanks for any help !

Chris

Have you confirmed the floppy drive still works?

We've had two FDD units and we checked on his other computer the data on floppy. We even take out the FDD where we write that disc and use it.

Hello, Didn't realize I had registered here 2 years ago, anyway.. It's either time to search the net for someone to send you a preflashed bios chip or hotflash the bios chip from your board in another board.

Sometimes they can recover with a floppy but not very often.
