| The best drivers for that card, performance and stability wise are the 44.03 Omega Modified Drivers for Win2K/XP Omega 44.03s. Your card is a Geforce 2, which is why older drivers actually give the best performance (directX 8.1). Those drivers don't support DirectX 9 or higher though. But yea, the ones your using now should be fine too.

| Make sure it has air flow and is not overheating. It does however look like it is toast.

| Is it AGP? There are plenty of cheap cards that will do the job. How much do you want to spend on a new card?

| That 6800 is the exact card I was thinking. Nice performance/price point.

| In my old Gateway 500X system P4 2.4Ghz @ 2.66Ghz using CPUFSB (My first computer, 2001) I had an old Nvidia Geforce4 MX440! The only games it ran well were RTCW...LOL I did upgrade to a Shader 2.0 card though which performed much better being the ATi 9550 256mb GDDR2 256bit AGP card... With this card (and some overclocking on it) I was able to even play FEAR on it! Although I did add a 80mm cooling fan to the passive heatsink to keep it cool. ![]() (Red fan blowing on the Graphics card & Soundblaster card on the bottom of the case) Btw, I still have this old system in a box in the garage and it still works just fine...LOL

| Yea never buy MX if your broke go 9800 or FX series. I think even the 5200 fx PCI GFX will out perform that MX and you can usually find them for around 25 bucks EDIT Asus 128mb AGP GeForce FX5200 DVI VGA S-Video V9520 - eBay (item 250234593804 end time Apr-14-08 19:41:51 PDT) wow my guess was right on the price :P

| MX series make me cry. They're *almost* as good as cards that state "Now support extreme resolution gaming of 800x600 at a staggering 10FPS! ~(Tested in RTCW)". As for the card itself, it's toast i'd say, in fact, see if you can make an MX4000 sandwich with them, always a tasty option if you like that kinda stuff.

| I've purchased at least 3 Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pros from newegg.com and they will play most games up to 2006. Like Far Cry, Battlefield 1942/vietnam. They are decent cards for $60.
