Can't get pass BIOS, automatic shutdown

Ok, first I'll list my setup:

ASUS A7V333 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 2200+
OCZ Dominator 2 HSF
Enermax 350 W Power Supply
Geforce 4 TI 4400
Sound Blaster Audigy
WD 80GB Hard drive w/ 8MB cache
Lite On 40x12x48 CD-RW
Lite On 16x DVD-ROM

Ok, now what happened:

I was attempting a small FSB overclock and was able to reach a stable 1.91 GHZ (142 x 13.5, 1.7 cpu voltage). Then I noticed that my CPU temp under load was about 55 C. I decided to turn off my comp and see if I could lower the temp by cleaning up the cables and re-installing the heatsink and thermal compound. After a little while everything looked nice and neat and I was very pleased...until I turned the thing on. Basically it shut-off automatically after a few seconds, no POST, no beeps, nothing. So, I wait a little and try it again, Same thing. Then I try taking out the CPU and turning it on. Now it stays on, but of course there's nothing on screen. So I unplug everything, check all the wires, install the heatsink again and plug everything back in. Now when I turn it on, I get the 1 normal beep and it goes straight to the BIOS saying that the CPU was hanging the previous boot due to a bad frequency. So I decide to set everything back to default, (1800 ghz-133 x 13.5, 1.65 voltage), then save and exit. So the comp resets and...shuts-off. I try to turn it on. And the processor hangs again. So I wait a while, turn it back on, it goes staright to BIOS with the same error and I'm back where I started.

I'm thinking this might be a power supply problem. Right after boot up the fan is running at around 1600 (which is written in red in the BIOSS, but it slowly rises until it's at normal levels. Another thing i noticed was the 5v voltage was 4.94. I think this is within reason but I just wanted to let it be known.

Any insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ummmm silly question, did you plug a fan into the cpu header?
Also try holding down the insert key at power up and go into bios and setup for fail safe.
I hope this helps.

Possibly you might have slightly damaged the core of your cpu when you put your heatsink back on (its happened to me). Are using some kind of protective shim??
If possible find a friends computer and whack your cpu in their computer and see if it works.
Hmmmm, I dont think its your power supply, 4.94 seems pretty a good voltage.

I agree that your psu is probably fine.

Have you reset the cmos? Removed the power/battery for 60 minutes? Stranger things have happened that were magically solved via bios-discharge

I think it might also be your unlock, mine's kinda flakey (can't do 10x or 11x, but 10.5 and 11.5 work fine ).

I'll go with Pinky on this,

I'd try for a new unlock, partial success can hold a lot of problems.

Yeah, definitely. No one wants a $150 keychain. I was really scared there for awhile...
