Pitch 3rd April, 2005 10:34 PM

I'll just have to wait a week before going back to WoW. :boxing:

Daniel ~ 3rd April, 2005 10:47 PM

It's just plain 'ol dumb luck. I've been there! I had a six month period where I had terrible luck! Half the stuff I got was stuffed went I got it! If I could break something, I DID!

Software would not install until the third damn try I mean It was a total lesson in patience administered by frustration!!

This to will pass Pitch!

Pitch 4th April, 2005 02:27 AM

I'm not so bothered now Dan, I've come to expect these things.

At least they will allow me to RMA it, and even if I have to wait for a replacement. I'm none too bothered.

Rondog 4th April, 2005 08:05 AM

I didnt think they allowed overclocking? I thought it voided warranty, therefore no RMA?

Daniel ~ 4th April, 2005 09:17 AM

many have a policy of don't ask, don't tell.

Rondog 4th April, 2005 09:55 AM

Ive got to find me one of those shops....

I bought my system from Harvey Norman. While I worked there. So no chance of death induced by overclocking RMA. Although, I am mates with the technician. He's an overclocker too. :D

I bought my 2600 mobile chip from Monarch and returned it with Scorch marks on it (even alcohol wouldn't take them off) and they sent me the one that I'm using to this day! Lol

Lazgoat 4th April, 2005 12:29 PM

I'm sure there is lots of stuff that Pitch buys that doesn't get RMA'd so I guess the shop is happy to have him as a customer!

Rondog 4th April, 2005 12:33 PM

Yeah, like felt mouse mats, and blank cd's. :/ LoL, just joking Pitch. In all seriousness, I agree with Laz, or they would have stopped selling to him years ago.

Pitch 4th April, 2005 01:00 PM

I've never RMA'd anything unless it is DOA.

But I've only been using this card for about 2 weeks and just can't afford to replace it.

Pitch is your EPoX motherboard with your 4000+ on it, 939 or 754?

Rather fast reply! Thanks danrok!

Pitch 5th April, 2005 12:33 PM

Can you even get a 4000+ on a 754?

Rondog 5th April, 2005 01:07 PM

Hmm. Not that I know of. In Australia that is. The State, im not sure about. I think the 754 is max at 3700+ here. Dont quote me on that though.

cadaveca 5th April, 2005 04:22 PM

3700+ is max, and they are few and far between..i'm kinda interested in one and noone in town has one.

bradmax57 7th April, 2005 06:39 PM

isnt the 3700 a 1mb one?

cadaveca 7th April, 2005 06:51 PM

you bet.
3700+ 1mb clawhammer 2.4ghz.
3400+ 1mb clawhammer 2.2ghz (next one for me to try, just gotta mount it)
3400+ 512KB newcastle 2.4ghz (currently @ 240mhzx11 1.65)

So, to me, these clawhammers @ 3400+ were failed 3700+. checking steppings and such at a local shop that has lots of old stock, steppings are the same between 3700+ 754 clawhammer, and 3500+ 939 clawhammer w/512KB. Seems that have moved the old ones over and disabled the cache...almost. If i had the cash right now, i'd pick one up and see.

Revision E sempron has shown up in town.....SDA3100AIO2BO...SSE3 sempron.

XeroHouR 7th April, 2005 07:56 PM

that 3100 from the review that did 2.8 and performed on par with the fx53 in gaming was.....very pleasing($90 proc...)

cadaveca 7th April, 2005 08:05 PM

I just saw a box when picking up some stuff. I am temped to buy one, but i have this 2600+ sitting here waiting on a mobo...gonna have to order one from somewhere else soon, i think. Would make for a good match with the gigabyte passive-cooled x800, i think, for mid-level gaming machine, with the DFI board, and some bh-5/ch-5 UTT ram.
