my mp3 player hates me.

i got a new RCA Lyra 1201 1gb mp3 player on monday, and about the time that the first battery died... it started giving me heck. It freezes up in songs, but i can't even listen to them cuz i don't know why... and i thought hey... maybe it's the files on it. so i tried deleteing them with it's firmware on it. to no avail. i tried deleting them in windows. nope, no luck their either, and formatting it? nope doesn't work. so i was hoping someone out there was unlucky enough to buy the same mp3 player as i and have the same probs and was able to fix it. cuz it's annoying me.

I picked up a sanza from sandisk, my son loves it. Great color display, easy to transfer and the battery life is quite nice. It actually charges through the USB on the pc. Maybe a review is in store...

Sorry to hear about your hardware problems. I steered clear of the RCA for that point alone. Read a few spotty reviews...

Sorry that probably did not help...

Sounds like it needs to go back to the shop.

If you bought it local, you might be able to get a copy from them. Maybe RCA will RMA it for you.

If Walmart operates anything like ASDA here (ASDA is part of the Walmart family) then they are pretty good at taking busted stuff back :)

but you still would need proof of you buying it there. i don't have any packaging, or the receipt. i just kept the driver disc and cables

Did you buy it with a Card? They should have a paper trail froim this??

I would always try and make a note of the Staff member you bought the item off. That way, you can chase them up personally, they can confirm you bought the item...and help you sort it out.

I am telling you, with Walmart, their exchange policy is wide open....

Toro 21st January, 2007 11:38 PM

or get a witness to go along with you :)
