Anti Porn Software for Adults??? Hey guys. I recently got a computer in the galley of the boat that I work on and hooked it up to the satalite system onboard. Woo Hoo! I am posting this from a the DSV Mr Fred! You can check it out here, about halfway down the page. http://www.wellops.net/images/shelf/mrfred-1.jpg Anyway. My supervisor says that we are not to be trusted and that we need anti porn software. I tend to agree with him. What is the best, least invasive, most invisible, software that works? I hate Symantics software because it gets into everything and is a pain. Free woulod be good to, but not necesary.

Try content Advisor in IE, and dont install any other browser. Tools -> Options -> content

Do you dial straight into an ISP or does it go through your company's servers first? Most content filters sit at the 'net gateway to make it hard for people to get forbidden content. If the boat's internet goes via your land-based office, then the likes of Websense will do the job well enough. If you're just going through an ISP, see what the ISP can provide. Some (UK) ISPs will set parental filters if you ask for them. Otherwise you're stuck with the likes of Net Nanny, Symantec or IE's content advisor. In all cases, only allow people to run a guest or limited user account so that they can't install apps themselves, nor change system settings.

It goes straight to an ISP. Unlimited phone acess for 3 lines (all USA long distance included) and a 256k internet conection for one time instalation fee of $10,000 and $4,500/month. looks like I am going to uninstall firefox and use content control in IE.

you could get net nanny or similar. But they are average at best. Also you could talk to the ISP
