MARCH 21, 2007 | Phishing Websites and crimeware both hit an all-time high in January, according to the Anti-Phishing Working Group's latest report, which was released yesterday. And for the first time, ISPs surpassed retail as the second-most targeted industry sector -- although they are way behind financial services, which accounts for 88.9 percent of phishing attacks.... If we believe the scare stories, and we probably should, the Net is becoming too dangerous to use at all. Yay, hooray.

I still think it all boils down to smart computing. DO NOT CLICK ON STUFF. Never say yes to an offer. Do not give information requested by email even if it looks legit. I tell people this all the time. Most things happen due to MBSK interface. (Moron between seat and keyboard)

I look at it as a measure of intention. Where there is persistent intent tools are discarded until one is found that accomplishes it's task.

Remember when our banking Prince from Nigeria in need of friend in the US was as subtle as it got?

Identity theft may change electronic banking, hell will change E Banking, how, remains to be seen ...or for Aedan to give us a peek.":O}

I've never done any banking via the Net. Glad that I haven't, luckily. Nonetheless, I never click on emails that I don't recognize. "They" are so adept at swiping info that I need to rethink any business transaction on the Web. Does Newegg still not accept orders via telephone?
