Question AVG -- any and all responses

IE6 installed only; not using IE7 (due to subsurface crap going on there).

Anybody got any user feedback or experiences to add about version 7.5 (the most recent) ?

I use AVG on all of my personal machines; AOA also uses it as one of the scanners for uploaded files.

I run the free edition - never had a problem & the autoscanning does wonders for me!

Been using it for years on mine and many others machines. I cannot complain at all.

'preciate the input guys. seems to be quite a bit less taxing than NAV has become..

And to tell you the truth, at the rate the kids are d/l-ing the latest greatest data mining software -- to every freaking pc in the house!! -- I was even getting a little disgusted that the s/h-ware spent so much time "doublechecking" what I could just as easily reach over and uninstall.

Avast is another one you might want to look at. Been using it too.

I used to use Avast. I quit using it for two reasons:
  1. It failed to catch a virus that AVG caught.
  2. It made my e-mail processing really slow. It was only processing about 1 e-mail/second.

Actually, I quit using it for basically the same reasons I quit using Symantec and McAfee. LOL

I have been using both....Avast got rid of something that AVG did not once. Other than that, AVG has been flawless.
