Whose the the MAN in Anti-virus? Avira!

Whose the the MAN in Anti-virus? Avira and she only needs to catch 71% to trounce all the contenders

With the Viral threat coming on at an ever increasing rate and computers being infected minutes after going on line for the first time; it's becoming ever more important to know how well our Anti-virus programs are working for us. As we also are growing increasingly sceptically of the claims being made through the Anti-virus industry, we turn to independents to test and report on the effectiveness of the various products clambering to protect us.

Report: little-known AV packages outdo those of Symantec, McAfee, Microsoft....

I use avast since most others have one or 2 niggling things (like the update popup for AVG...in the middle of FEAR, that aint good), whereas avast! seems to do it all for me.

While I like to think my AV is preemptive, I know better. If you let your AV get 30 days out of date you are just asking for problems regardless of who's you use.

Mind you were only talking about "previously" undetected virus. Once they have it in the labs and sort a patch one would hope to see them do quite a bit better...just don't be the first one on your block to get one! ":O}

Most of the free ones, AVG, Avast, update daily. I still feel pretty good about the protection I have. The key is not going to sites that you know you should avoid.
