Red face I just got nailed!

At this moment, I am doing a clean install of XP PRO. I wish I had someone to kill but it's my own fault. I'd kill my self but then I wouldn't get to enjoy puting the new computer together. To get to the point-I installed a Trojan.
I got Photoshop from a friend (ex-friend) yea, it had a shady pedigree. I un-ziped it to my HDD and scanned it with 2 programs, then setup. Photoshop was installing but it was takeing an abnormal length of time. Then it hit. It started throwing new screens at me, all of them telling me I had a virus. It took over my desk top completly.I could not get to any of my malware programs. I did a cold boot-thinking about my rescue disks. Turns out I had got them, but then forgot them. they were to old.
Kinda funny realy, I was going to do this anyway when the new hardware gets here. what am I saying? I'm still going to do a clean install with the new hard ware-OOh-WELL.
Need to get a good malwae program that runs off the disk and that I can update to the disk.
anybody know of one?

Not any longer I'm afraid. However, if it ran through your existing virus checkers etc, then you might want to look carefully - malware removers only remove malware they know about!

You have to consider the source of the software.

PS. (There's a reason you never see the mention of questionable software in legit forums)

That's the reason I said I've got no one to blame but myself-stupid! I do stupid things sometimes. The results are usualy predictable by someone else!
