Badware.org report shines new light on where the world's malware-ridden sites reside

More than half of the infected Websites on the Internet today are located on servers in China, according to a newly released report by nonprofit Stopbadware.org. And six of the top ten network blocks hosting malware-ridden sites reside in China as well, the report says. [Frontpage...]

I'm kinda curious about their data sampling sources and techniques: in 2007 the U.S. had the most bad sites, yet only a year later, China shows up with 5 TIMES as many sites?!?! More to the point, a year ago, according to the report, China wasn't a significant source of badware, yet this year it DOMINATES?!

There's something chewy here.

If this is true, i'm not really surprised. I know this is only a small sample of the total, but all of the bots i see on the WoW EU forums point to .cn domains. And the number i actually see before they get deleted is rising in a rather un-nerving way.
