This was done very, very quickly & all said accounts that were listed were froze by MSN & the others to prevent them from being accessed until they were changed to re-secure them. How the names & passwords were gathered was by stupid people being asked for the information & just giving it to them on Fake Phishing sites. So there was no hacking into mainframe databases or anything. You can read all about that here if you like from the site's owner/admin post on this...
