BTW, to easily access the "Services" window, you can set it as an option to appear when you right click on "My Computer." To do that, just add this to your registry by opening Notepad and copying the stuff below. Then save the file with a .reg extension. Then double click the file.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

;This will add "Services" to the right-click menu of "My Computer"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\services]
@=hex(2):53,00,65,00,72,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65,00 ,73,00,00,00
"SuppressionPolicy"=dword:4000003c
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\services\command]
@=hex(2):25,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,69,00,72,00 ,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73, 00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,6d,00,6d,00 ,63,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00, 65,00,20,00,2f,00,73,00,20,00,25,00,53,00,79,00,73 ,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52, 00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00 ,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00, 32,00,5c,00,73,00,65,00,72,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65 ,00,73,00,2e,00,6d,00,73, 00,63,00,20,00,2f,00,73,00,00,00

Hey RM, I've got this Folding Installer on my two machines and I've changed the config name from yours to mine. I'm not sure whether I've completed any WU's yet so I dont know whether it was successful or not. If you notice two odd WU's please let me know.

Also is it possible to get EM to monitor F@H with this installer?

Yes, if the computers are on a network or any kind, just add the computer and point to the installation file. If they're not networked, you would have to install EM on both machines and monitor them independantly. In which case, just point each one to the installation folder. I use EM to monitor all my computers.

due to the amount of times the versions of this installer have been downloaded, i have no way of knowing whether one of your cpus is running under my name, i cant spot an odd WU. i know for sure there are at least 4-5 cpus running under my name that i cant account for.

i myself have 6 computers running fah, then two more that my friends are running, that makes 8, my user page shows 13 active cpus, thats 5 extra (wait... extra is good) that i dont know where or who they are comming from.

Be careful with the config file. I only recently noticed that 2 machines were folding under "Anonymous."

Is the config file the only way of changing the username for this installer?

I believe so without creating a new one. Figures that RM1 doesn't let you input it into the install process! Why would he give up those that don't remember to change it!

You can also use EM3 to make changes to the config file. You have to make sure to "allow network users to make changes" in the FAH folder if it's not on the local machine.

seems like i still have an instance of it running somewhere ehehehehe!!!

might start it back up on my main machine since 1.5 months to the end of the school year and my room mate is starting to piss me off. a little extra noise from the temp. controlled fan never killed me (dont know about anyone else )

seems they still havent upgraded past the 5.03 version, so no need to redo the installer since it uses v5.00

So, when you make it a service.. you don't actually see it running? What if you double click on your console shortcut.. does it 'cancel' out the service?

when you double click the console and get it running so you see the console window, either one or the other will take up 100% of the cpu (or whatever you set it to) and the other console with be left with 0% and sit idle, or it will use 40% if say you have the other one set to use 60% cpu

pressing strl-alt-del, brings up the task manager, you can see it running in there.

the advantage of a service is just that you dont have to log in for it to run.
