Looking for a video editing package

Can any one recommend a nice simple, easy to use video editing package. I don't think I really need too many fancy features, just something to allow me to take clips from the camcorder.

my uncle has this thing called
Dazzle DVC
it can record from various sources and convert to mpeg, it can also compress the format to real media and asf i think, havnt used it in a while.

I used it to record the clerks trailer which i uploaded to the aoa files section some months ago
