Took a similar picture yesterday, not as nice as dod's one. The other I took earlier today.

Hey dod, dont think you saw my question but, on your "rock" picture, the water appears to be moving not frozen... and seems to have a misty milky look, how is this done... slow exposure as a guess? would i be able to get the same effect with my Z2?

De-icer anyone?

Here are two pics I took recently, again from Sweden, that I thought could have quite funny captions. Like "Where is the fuel tank on this one Fredrick?"

You're right, I missed it.

You should be able to, according to the spec:

15 - 1/1000 second in shutter-priority and manual exposure modes.

What you need to do is set the ISO as low as you can (50) Set the camera to Aperture Priority and set the aperture as small as you can, but remember that the lower F numbers actually give a bigger aperture. You need to be looking for at least F8, F16 if you can get it.

Set the camera on a tripod or pick a stable rock if you dont have one. To avoid any camera shake use the camera's self timer and take the shot.

If you find you cant get a slow enough shutter speed try underexposing a bit. You can always compensate to some extent through software.

Try this. Put the dial in A/S/M mode and switch to the external screen. Now you should be able to adjust the exposure - see the number next to the apeture Fx.x? You should be able to make adjustments, probably using the left and right arrow buttons.

LOL. In that case I would take a different approach, myself. If you get a perfectly exposed shot you'll be able to achieve different moods, etc. using an image editor.

The better the original image is, the easier it is to manipulate with software.

I'd agree with Danrok, B&W doesn't have to mean dark, but it's what you want out of it that matters

Did some updates as well btw, added some pics I've been meaning to do for ages
