Fun Photo Assignment #2. "Work"

This is the second photo assignment, just for fun.

Everyone is welcome to have a go. No need for expensive cameras or professional skills.

You just need to take a photo with a theme which fits the following word:

Work

Once you have a photo, don't post it up. Send me a private message and I will give you my email address and then you can email it to me. I don't want to post my email address here because it will attract spam.

Please, take a fresh photo not one you already have.

Submissions need to be sent to me by 16th May 2005.

I'll post up all entries after that time and then members can vote for their favorite using a poll. The winner gets to pick a word for the next assignment. Fearless Joe chose the word this time round.

Any questions, just post them up!

Good luck!

Guidelines for editing:

You may crop your photo.
You can adjust brightness, contrast and colour balance.
You can convert to monochrome, i.e. black and white, etc.
You can add a plain solid border.
Minor touch-ups are OK, e.g. removal of dead pixels, small imperfections like dust.
No clever or fancy photo editing this time, please. Just basic stuff.

No restrictions on what camera, lens or lighting you use. Be as creative as you like with the camera!

I have a quick question....

Is there a limit to the number of entries one person can make? I'm not talking about flooding you with pics but I do have more than one idea here......

It would be one entry only which ties in with the poll which will be one vote only.

What is the limit to setting pictures up - eg. a still life or so? Any limits?

Also - how big do you want the picture to be, I guess your mailbox would be a bit strained with pics in TIFF or RAW. 1meg? 2?

My brain is crunching... Hm - what is that smoke?

There's no limit on the type of photo.

My inbox is 2.1 GB! But, it would be best to resize your image so that it can be easily viewed on-screen by those who vote for it. You can add a plain border as well.

The closest I could get was German.....

"Ein anderer verfluchter Tag"

OR

Our English speaking friends across the pond would probably say something like...

"Another Shagging Day" <-- Loose translation

I have no idea how a Romanien would express this.... Enlighten us?????

I just re-read this and you asked about a Romulan translation....????
Are we watching a little too much Star Trek these days?

Swap "Another" for "All" and you've got it.

This I understand. The StarTrek comes from Gizmo and Australien boyz, they are big fans of the series. They know everything about it. But Allan is the one that gave me the Romulan instead of Romanian joke...... Can you believe what Allan is up to?

Who has a photo ready?

We can always extend it if people need more time...

I think you have won by default, SM.

It doesn't look like there is much interest in this at the moment.

If you looked at the train pictures in my other thread then you have pretty much seen what I had to offer. I had a hard time with the subject to tell you the truth. Work is a verb. Verbs are action words and we are dealing with still photography here. I submitted a picture (on time) of a steam locomotive representing the work and energy that it had produced in its useful / working life. I also justified it by the fact that I drove past it weekly on my route when I was traveling to make a living.

If you guys think there is still enough interest in this assignment then I will offer up a new subject.........
