Did you apply the changes to the whole image, the foliage looks to have a bluish tinge too?

The foliage in the foreground looks green to me, as it should. The foliage in the middle distance looks a little bluish, but I'd half expect that.

I did apply the changes to the whole image. Where PSP or PS are concerned, I have not a clue.

colour perception is a funny thing, I was going by the colour of the rock which still looks, to me any way, to have a bluish tinge. Having said that I'm on the laptop which has the worst screen ever for this sort of stuff.

Have a look at this though, not recommended if you've got a hangover

Great illusions! I tweaked the histogram on my laptop too. The colours look "ok" on the work machine though perhaps with a tad too much blue, as you suggest. I'll tweak it again when I'm looking at a better screen, though it's really not the best of the pics I made.

There is some flattening of the colours anyway. I was getting some glitches with flaring; I bought a UV filter to try to stop the sky washing out completely but with that much light I got odd reflections between the lenses. Needed a polarising filter, didn't have one... did have some polarised sunglasses so stuck those in front of the lens. These seem to cause a bit of a greyish-blue tinge anyway, but on other shots really brought out the greens of the foliage and the texture of the brick...

I'm guessing that you masked off the sky and altered the colours for both separately? Looks good; a little strange for having different colour balances. This might be due to having quite an obvious line between the two.

When I get home I'll shove the unmodified image up for you to play with if you like.

yep, more or less. Bottom part looks like it has a slight orange cast now I'm on a decent monitor.

Put it up but I doubt I'll have time to look at it tonight, we're off to the Scottish Championships tomorrow, she's got a 40 miler on

Best of luck to her! Last time I rode 40 miles it was 'cos I got lost somewhere in the Herts countryside without a map. On a dressage saddle, this is not fun. I had a numb arse for a week!

indirectly, a bit of levels and curves brings it up great.

I should point out I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the picture, Kaitan took it to please him and provided he's pleased then that's the way it should stay.

I only commented on what I thought was a blue cast and I suspect the edit I threw together is nothing like how Kaitan remembers that scene. From that point of view I'm not too keen on making any changes to be honest, especially with colour and stuff. It could end up ruining a memory which isn't what you want to do. Ideally for this type of shot all you should be doing is maybe boosting what comes out of the camera, or if the clouds did have a blue cast enhancing it a bit.

I'll post one which had a LOT of photoshopping

I finally got around to looking at it on my main computer at home - you're right, too much blue. My laptop screen doesn't seem to report blue very faithfully.

I've tweaked the levels gently again, and posted the original for comparison (original is the second picture)
