Fun photo assignment 5 - Dark

This is the fifth photo assignment, strictly for fun.

Everyone is welcome to have a go. No need for expensive cameras or professional skills.

You just need to take a photo with a theme which fits the following word:

DARK

Once you have a photo, don't post it up. Send dod or danrok a private message and they will give you an email address and then you can email it to them. I don't want to post their email addresses here because it will attract spam.

Please, take a fresh photo not one you already have.

Submissions need to be sent in by 10th October 2005.

Someone will post up all entries after that time and then members can vote for their favorite using a poll. The winner gets to pick a word for the next assignment. I chose the word this time round.

Any questions, just post them up!

Good luck!

Guidelines for editing:

You may crop your photo.
You can adjust brightness, contrast and colour balance.
You can convert to monochrome, i.e. black and white, etc.
You can add a plain solid border.
Minor touch-ups are OK, e.g. removal of dead pixels, small imperfections like dust.
No clever or fancy photo editing this time, please. Just basic stuff.

No restrictions on what camera, lens or lighting you use. Be as creative as you like with the camera!

Looks a bit like an 'in-womb' shot of a baby, if you just look at the face only.

There are lots of ways you can interpret the word "dark" - doesn't all have to be about night time

Actually I don't. Wish I did. I'll do what I did last time; nip off to somewhere nice for a few days, fill my hard disc with photos and try to find something I can crop out of one of them just in time for the deadline

I just made the comment because it would be a shame to have half a dozen pictures of car headlights at night when the word has so much potential

I've got an opal mine at a little place called Lighting Ridge. 60 feet down looking up the sharft makes a nice photo with the theme DARK. Problem is not going out there till after this finishes.

Heh. Good one. Sometimes I really love the political commentary that goes on in these forums. They can range from thoughtful and well-put to just plain funny.

EDIT: 500 posts!
