Avi frame grabbing

i've got an avi file that i want to get a screen cap of every second from. thing is i don't want to have to do it manually. cuz that's ALOT of seconds. so i was hoping you guys knew of a program that will rip the frames from an avi file for free.

If you use mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/) it has an option of grabbing every frame from a video file (didn't see any option to take only a frame per second), try this: c:\...\mplayer -vo jpeg x:\..\movie.avi . The resulted pics are in the folder where mplayer is installed.
Hope this helps
