I don't see many people who use their pc as a DAW going anywhere nere vista. In audio software every cpu cycle counts and the chunk of memory and processor time vista eats up could cater for a plugin or two.

In fact some won't even use XP and stick with 2000 for the same reason.

..or they get a MAC. it's not just cpu cycles that count...having more than 3gb of OS-addressable ram helps a fair bit too.

Oh, and Vista sound IS good...I am actually quite surprised by the quality offered from jsut even standard high-def audio chipsets.
