Inkscape vector graphics - FAQ, tips and help thread

Please post in this thread if you have any tips, tricks, etc. for using Inkscape, or if you require some help with it.

What is it?

Inkscape is free Open Source software for creating and editing vector graphics. It's ideal for creating images such as website buttons, banners, advertisements, flyers, etc.

Files can be created in the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.

Where to download Inkscape?

Download the installer from AOA's file section, here:

Does Inkscape run on Windows or is it a Linux program?
Can you do CAD drafting with it or is it like Flash or Illustrator?
