Casio's high speed camera

Exilim EX-FH20

Can shoot 40 photos per second.

Can record HD video at 1000 fps.

Impressive numbers, but I'd have my doubts about the end results!

It can record in 720p (1280x720) up to 30 FPS.
The 40 shots per second rate is only burst mode, so
The 1000fps "movie" rate is at 224 × 56, which isn't that useful.

It supports a few movie modes, like the following:
1280 x720 at 30fps
640 × 480 at 30fps
480 × 360 up to 210fps
224 × 168 at 420fps
224 × 56 at 1000fps

I'm not sure how useful 224 x 56 @1000fps really is though?

That is pretty low. 640x480 would be about the lowest useful res. At least for me.

Useful for making the camera look far more impressive, at a glance, than it really is.

This is the real deal:
Phantom HD Camera :: Digital Cinema Cameras :: Rental Equipment :: Abel Cine Tech

$2,500 per day to hire. I'd estimate that the camera would cost about $100,000 based on the rental rate, can't find a price online.

That's for the camera - don't forget to add in the tech too.
