These edits were made using Lightroom 3 beta.

You can download and use it for free, until April 2010.

For the first one I used the Hardrocker preset:
Hardrocker – A Lightroom preset for a harder look | PresetsHeaven

Plus, tweaked it some more.

For the second one, I used this snow preset:

Plus, some tweaking and a blue gradient in the sky.

I thoroughly enjoy using Lightroom. Though I don't have the equipment to take amazing stock pictures like you, I still enjoy the results it gives with the ones I do use.

Didn't know Lightroom 3 was out. Is there much difference between 2 and 3?

It's more about technique, and light, than expensive cameras.

I used a 40D which is a £600 camera. The result would look no different, if I'd used a 1D which costs £3.2K.

In the first pic, I've set the camera to underexpose the natural light, so as to keep some detail in the sky and snow. And someone is holding my flash and pointing it at the side of the car, that way the car looks bright and nicely lit, and 3 dimensional looking. The sun is hitting the back of it.
