Exclamation Help, Does Linux Redhat 9.0 support dual proccesors?

I have recently bought all the parts to a dual proccesor p3 setup. I am using
Intel L440GX+ Dual P3 Slot 1 Server Motherboard
NEW Intel Pentium III Processor 667 MHz x2

and a 20 gig hard drive, 256 memory, and various cables and such.

Will linux support these items?

Make sure you use the SMP kernel. Note that Redhat 9 is now getting a bit old, and you might want to examine other distributions (or switch to fedora, which is where redhat is going).

Linux has certainly supported dual processors for some time now.

My recommendation is to do a search on something like Google, and see what resources you turn up. There are many pages already on the web that go through installing Redhat. Typically the process starts by putting the OS CD in the drive and booting from it!

This is correct - putting in Disc 1 of your 3 to 5 disc set and telling the BIOS to boot from CD will start a graphical installer. If you've installed any version of Windows yourself, you can do the same with Linux - follow the on screen prompts, and don't worry too much about matching your hardware or getting it all working at installation. Some things are best left 'til you have the fully operational system.

Definitely google for howtos on this: three things you will definitely need are a package named "kernel-sources", a package named "make" and a package named "autoconfig". A lot of distributions leave them out of their default install, which upsets users later as they gain experience.

You might want to investigate Fedora Core 3 instead of RedHat 9. It's very much more up to date.
