New board !@#$%

Just bought a new 8k5a. When I go to boot it up I get nothing. The led light comes on but I get no read on the led desplay. I have tried everything ( built the pc at my friends computer shop).

Do you think it is DOA, or has anyone had this problem before? I am trying to get my friend to start selling Epox boards but so far he is not happy!

Can you try another PSU? Try reseating the RAM and CPU as well. Reseat the main power connector. Remove and check voltage on CMOS battery. Check wiring for power switch.
There, that will keep you busy for a second or two. Then check back with us here.

Did you test the board out of the case? Only way to be sure, try it with just the ram, CPU, see what you get. What power supply are you using?

I just had a PSU dilemma that sounds like your story. I had been running these 2 (of 5 total) 24/7 for about a year. I had to shut it all down and when I got around to setting it all up again I had 2 dead boxes. The others have offered great advice. Just have to shoot it step by step. I was sure the boards were gone but after pulling a known good PSU and hooking it up all was on the good foot.

Live and learn.

Tried all of that again last night. The board is dead. NP though, a new board is just an RMA away!!
