Newbie Help

I have just bought an Athlon XP 2000+ CPU, Epox 8K5A2 Motherboard & TwinMOS 256mb PC2700 memory.

Can someone tell me the best settings to use for this combo.
In particular should I be using the 100 or 133 host clock speed (Jumper 1) and any other BIOS settings that I need.

If you could tell me the standard settings I should use & possibly any tweaks that may be good.

Thanks in anticipation.

Munro

I'm not much of an Epox guy. (they'll be here shortly) but your memory should hand the 133 NO PROBLEM!! Not only that but you'll get a big time performance increase.
I hope that helps.

Hiya Mein,

Please do set jumper JCK1 to position 2-3 for 133MHz bhost clock (266MHz PSB) to run the Athlon processor at the correct speed.

Note that this jumper is for CPU and not memory speed.

Your memory will auto detect and run correctly in this mainboard as standard. Anything further than this is overclocking and as such may cause you instability.
