Unhappy AMD 2400 unlocked...kinda. 8k5a2+

"Unlocked" my 2400xp using the pin method (results attached).
Boots up, posts at 7.0X133X (for some reason), and then I've got got between 5 and 30 seconds before it shuts itself down. Temperature isn't going above 33°C. Have to clear CMOS before it'll start again.

Epox 8k5a2+
350w psu

(more than happy to provide more info, but don't know what you need).

Any and all help appreciated, I'm very sad

Check out this thread, you are not alone. I didn't try your method, but haven't had much success crossing the bridges either!

Oh well. Removed mod (I just think the contact wasn't so hot), going to attempt 5th L3 bridge tomorrow if I can get a conductive pen or ink.

That's what I used, but I did all L1's as well. I'll have another go of it today after I get some shut eye and do just that one. Are the multipliers different? I've read of the numbers being changed; 5 = 15, etc.

I've read that more than a couple of times now. How I managed 7.0 when the board was set to auto (15x) I've got no idea...

The plot thickens :/

Carefully unlocked CPU the normal, 5th L3, way, and here are my results:
Multipliers:
Auto=7.0 (again)
15=5.5
14=5.0
6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5 all = their respective numbers...

But everything else just shut down, so no 12.5, 12, etc.
Has anybody had any luck unlocking these chips with this board (Epox 8k5a2+)?

THat's the board I have, not so sure I want to go trying to unlock it now! I need multis in the 12, 12.5, 13, 14 range!

I'd like to get above the magic 166 mark. 14.7 x 166 = 2440
That would be sweet!

Ok, the problem may be heat. I put in a Delta Screamer 95 cfm and it's going higher:

That'd mean I'd have to get a floppy drive
Ended up locking it back up. Currently stable running Prime95 @ 1.85v, 138fsbX16x. I'll give it another shot when I hear from some people regarding this board and unlocking.
