8K3A + 3COM 3c905tx and win98/ME wont boot

I have been messing with this for months... When I load the driver Win98and 98SE immediatly freezes (WinME has a driver for it, therefore it freezes during the install) I disabled the card in safe mode so I can at least use the O/S.

Here's what I know so far.

It works in 2000/xp on the 8k3a
It works on other motherboards in Win98/se/me
It fails on ANY pci slot.
It fails with ALL 8k3a bioses from 2312 to 2912
Other net cards work fine in its slot on Win98/se/me

Has anyone seen this, or have any ideas what to try ?

I cannot be much help now because I am now running w2k and winxp but I had run both 3c905b and 3c905c on 8k3a without any problems for some months. I install in pci slot 3.

Ya, it works great for me too in 2000 and XP, its only a problem on the win95 kernal O/S's.
