just got new AXP 2400+, might have a problem though with 8k5a3

when i first put it in it says unrecignized CPU 2000mhz, windows boots just fine but im concered, i unlocked the cpu, and set all sorts of multipliers common with the AXP family, instead of thinking i have a say athlon 1900+ for example, it still says unrecignized CPU at 1600mhz. for a few hours of playing around i figured, well there must be something diffrent about the 2400+ and up cpu's (though this one is still 133fsb default) but on a random reboot while at 190fsb 10.5x (1995mhz) it came up as AthlonXP 2400+ 1995mhz. i thought oh good whatever was wrong is magically fixed. but next time i rebooted, it said unrecignized cpu at 1995mhz. my concern is, is my cpu flaky and need to be rma'ed? or does the bios just not recigniz some new cpuid techniq the 2400+ is useing or something silly like that. randomly at diffrent multipliers and FSB speeds ill get the correct athlon name for a certain combination, like athlonXP 1500 (when im on 10x133) but its random, if i reboot it will be unrecignized again, reboot 4 times and im an athlon again without changing anything... any ideas? bios is the 2923 from aoafiles.com

Thats normall.

The CPU will only be a Xp-2400 when running 15x133.

As PR is now also based on FSB (with the 166 bus processors) the board has to take that into account.

So a unlocked CPU at a unusual bus speed will confuse the bard so it will just list its mhz, the CPU will function just fine but the bios wont display its PR rating.
On the 8k9a2+ ive been playing with boot is so fast I cant even see the CPU speed in the bios.

You dont have a faulty CPU you just have a very confused motherboard now you have unlocked.
