What should I get? Holst or Epox Tech?

EP-8RGA+(New NForce2 board), or the 8K9A2+? Which is better? I have an 8K5A2+ that I'm going to sell and I want a NEW BOARD!! Yes, I've got the upgrade bug. I'm also getting a XP 2400. I have a 1900 right now.

I know I'm neither of the two you requested but I would suggest the ECS Sis735 board (Just kidding )

Truthfully the 8RDA+ (without vid) looks like the best choice.
As long as you don't need the raid chip.

Actually what I'm hoping for is Epox to break out a Nforce2 with highpoint addon chip. Now that would be the shiznit for a Socket A board.

Oh and the 2400+'s are up and down on what you can get (stable speed wise).

I've got one at 2.375Ghz (191x12.5) on a Epox 8K3A+ (r1.2 or 1.3 can't remember). But thats with a Vapochill Premium Titanium (Big black refigerator).

One of the other forums members has a locked2400+ on a 8K3A+, running at 15x 167 (2.4Ghz). But he's got the old Vapochill system.

Mine I had to go all the way up to 2.05v to get it to stay stable at 191x12.5.

The Vapo's seated perfectly, and MBM 5.1.2.0 (or is it 5.2.1.0) is reading the cpu at -10 to -7 c idle, and 4 to 5c under load (this is without the wpcrset key). With the 92 hex key changed to E9 in Wpcrset I average -28c idle and 0 to 4c under load. I've adjusted the chillcontrol to 100% fan speed and -30c for the maintain temp (startup temp is -10 which takes roughly 4 minutes).

I hope you get a really good core 2400+, and get 2.2 to 2.4 air cooled.

Hmmm, I got my AXP2400 up to 2353Mhz with a Thermalright SK-7 and a $5 Sunon fan. It would actually POST at 2470Mhz, but it wouldn't go into Windows. It's usable at 2405Mhz, but at that speed, but I get crashes after about 30 minutes with CPUBurn.

EDIT: This is on a 8K9A2+.

I'll trade ya mooky

2400 for 2400...

Well hopefully the 2600 that I order (almost 2 months ago) will be able to maintain higher speeds.

If I had another motherboard I'ld probably pull the cpu and test it in an air cooled environment (heck I've got a Alpha PAL 8045, Thermalright SLK-800, and a AX-7 just collecting dust on a shelf).

Anyway, back to the original question... I don't know about the nForce2 board, but the 8K9A2+ unlocks all the multipliers on a T-bred. If that kind of thing matters to you, perhaps the 8K9A2+ would be better for you.

Im running 8k9a2+ at the moment.
Its a very nice product indeed and you wont be disapointed if you get one.
This has been the easyest and fastest system build ive ever done, as well as some of the easyest overclocking..

Having said that Nforce2 is looking like its going to kick ass as well.

I cant give any particually usefull info on Nforce2 performance atm, once we see retail boards you will be able to read the reviews and forum posts and decide for yourself.

I am wating for EPoX to release 8RDA+ wich will be my next EPoX motherboard...have had them since the release of the KT133 chipset.

Any idea how far away the EPoX 8RDA+ release is?

is there any chance Epox in the future will release an Nforce board with onboard raid? Or is there some hardware issue which doesn't allow it? Since none of the nforce boards anounced has it And that's not just epox.
