Question newbie: 8k5a2 temps questions

Hi all, I'm new here.
I'm also new to Epox, I bought my first computer 3 weeks ago, and I have an 8k5a2 mobo.

I understand that the board shows temp from the socket termistor and not from the xp diode.
So my question is: what is my real temp ?

On idle I have 29'C case and 29'C cpu, and on load it's 31'C case, 42'C cpu (as shown by mbm).
Should I add 10'C to get the 'real' temps ?

What's the cpu temp limit above which I start toasting my cpu then, 50'C (+10'C=60'C) ?

Thanks.

My specs:

EP-8k5a2
XP 1800+ AGOGA not oc-ed
Arctic Alumina
Dr. Thermal TI-V77N (40 CFM, 6000 rpm)
2 case coolers
tweaked chipset registries for cooling with wpcrset

I think most people start experiencing instabilities around the 60C mark. Which would indicate that the true die temp is around 70C-75C. AMD says the AXP can run safely as high as 90C. Most likely, you'll start noticing things about your machine WAY before your die hits 90C. The machine I'm on now is currently running at 49C and it's perfectly stable at that temp. If you're running 42C at load, you've got a long way to go before you can start worrying about "toasting" your CPU.

Thanks mookydooky What mobo are you using ? I assume it's overclocked ?
And yes, I assume with my 42C I'm pretty safe, but in the near future I'll start overclocking, so maybe 42C is a little bit high to start with ?

The mobo is a 8K5A2+. I'm running an AXP at 1816Mhz at 173FSB. 42C is not very high to start with. At stock, my temp is 45C. Monday, the weather was kind of warm where I'm at, and the temp went up to 52C. No problems. It's all good until you lose stability.
